What is love?

Ah.... the true question, asked by none other than Haddaway in a strangely catchy mid-90's song. But before I get to answer that, I must apologize for not having posted in several weeks. It has been a long few weeks, with my neurology rotation - finally finished - had the shelf on Friday (and had to resort to medical knowledge I learned watching House to answer 1 question? It's on TV, I say! It MUST be real! No, seriously, I did... and I got the question right!) and I was also dealing with the Match. For those of you who do not know what "the match" is, it is the enigmatic computer program that tells me and all of my friends where we will be slaves for the next 3-7 years. I ended up ranking Boston Children's first, followed by Monte. So we will see where I end up - hopefully, at one of those two places.

Now, back to the title. What is love? As I have (sadly) learned this weekend, Love is wanting to do anything to stop someone from hurting, that you are praying that you should be in pain instead of them.
Sammy had his first illness this weekend.... stuffy nose, unable to breathe through it - and thus unable to suck on the passifier or nurse well and thus unable to sleep well, plus fever to about 102. I felt so bad for him, it was really ripping my heart out. I wish so much that it had been me who was congested and didn't feel well (though, since I tend to complain a lot when I am sick, I don't know how Shosh felt about my wishes). Thankfully, it appears Sammy is on the road to recovery, as his fever has broke and he is acting like his usual self.
Quick Sammy update - he now looks like this:
Sammy enjoying his football
and eats, rice cereal, barley cereal, apples, pears, bananas, and as of later tonight, peaches. He rolls over from back to front (and apparently front to back - which he does in his sleep, but Shosh and I have yet to see), and he just yap yap yaps all day long. So cute!
I start my ambulatory rotation at Jacobi on Monday. Should be interesting - I hope the clinics are busy - so much better to work than to sit around and stare at the clock. I still need to take the boards - which I am doing on the 15th, the day before match day. Not to smart. oh well.

Saw I, Robot today - not so bad (at least not as bad as some of the reviews it got); also saw Elektra - bad movie. Not worth the time. Been watching Grey's Anatomy (great show!), House (awesome show) and even some of the Olympics.
Football free agency is going to start soon, which is always exciting, and the rookie combine is this weekend, so lots of news to keep me busy. That and all the arguments over the collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The Knicks suck, Isiah Thomas is a HORRIBLE GM - worse than Scott Layden.. Bill Simmons has a hysterical article about this - a must read. The Rangers are doing well, but no one really cares about hockey, and pitchers and catchers reported already!!! Baseball is almost here!!! For the first time ever, I am doing a fantasy baseball league... should be interesting. Waste even more brain space! I am listening to Institute's new (first) album - not so bad.... the lead singer is Gavin Rosdale, the ex-frontman for Bush. Also listening to the soundtrack to the Curious George movie, which is by Jack Johnson... again, not half bad. I have recently got Matityahu and My Chemical Romance - so those are next on my list to listen to... I will report soon. I am finishing off 1776 (which by the way - is a phenomenal story which shows new sides to people like George Washington) and will soon start in on Steven King's latest - Cell. I am very very excited.

Anyways, that's my life now... I am going to try to post something every day - even if it is just a little. I know.. still much I have promised to write about.
